Example: A science teacher needs balanced pairs for a chemistry practical — 12 students split into two lab cohorts (A and B). She needs one A and one B per pair so no partnership is drawn from a single cohort. She also needs two students kept apart due to a past safety incident. The algorithm enforces both constraints in one pass.

In the Generate Groups dialog, add 1 Lab Partner A + 1 Lab Partner B category entry per group (6 pairs of 2). To add a keep-apart rule, open any student's preference button and use the 'Keep Apart' tab.
